'Jins involved greater ground space by taking ill more laud, and on interviewing -Mr Alorpetb, Ciuei Commissioner or Lands, -»ir Cagney, Ciuei draughtsman, had been turned to atlend and explain tlie position of boundaries and procedure. Mr Cagney produced a rough sketch plan and pointed out what might Ik done by procuring tile land available either by lease or transfer. Air Cagney was thanked for the information conveyed and it was resolved to confer with the -Mayor and the Chairman oi the High Sciiool Board to ascertain what could be done in the matter; also with reference to taking m more ground at the rear to extend tuc dressing room accommodation for indies and girls. A committee consisting of> Messrs Evans, Lawn, Tomlinson and G. Adamson seur., was appointed to meet Air JX Stevenson and obtain an estimate lor enlarging the stands and otherwise improving the accommodation, tlio conlorence to take place a.s early a.s :iossihle.
The Secretary reported season tickets this year had returned €3O so tar and C 27 was derived from the carnival on Wednesday. There was a liability of approximately £35 for the lighting. It was stated by Mr Tomlinson that the lighting was not complete yet, as further material was required. Extra lighting would be placed over tbe diving stand, and about the ladies’ dressing rooms, which would be effective. The question of arranging liie finance for the extra seating was deferred pending an estimate ol the cost, when proposals will be placed before the Borough Council.
The following was set up- as a programme committee lor the championship carnival on lltli. February: Messrs Lawn, Lynn, Paterson, lomlin son and Rochlord. As the Reel ton picnic is set down for that date it v as resolved to bold a series of events during the afternoon at which the visitors could compete and hold the finals in the evening. The Secretary stated a number ol special prizes bad been donated for the carnival, which would he helpful to the Club in view of the extra expense in be incurred in the proposed improve-
ments. The matter of crossing in the roceiu swimming events was mentioned, i-’id the need for marking off the bottom of tbe baths with lines to direct toe course of swimmers was suggested. The meeting concluded al 8.15 p.m.
