General crop practice is not so advanced as in most- parts of this State. The majority of farmers were rather conservative in their opinion. Mr Breakwell remarked upon the almost entire absence of co-operation in N.Z. between the ordinary farmer and and the Department of Agriculture in the wav of experimental plots which have been adopted so widely and effectively in New South Wales.
