AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CAULK ASSOCIATION. WIRELESS EXPERIMENTS SUCCESSFUL. . NEW YORK, January 27. The Wcstinghousc General Electric Company announces that the test matter of a broadcast from their station “KA.KA.”, in Pittsburg, has successfully been received by amateurs in Australia. The experiments continue. A piano recital is being broadcasted to-morrow. Wednesday, January 28th., followed by addresses by noted officials. The Company are confident that these experiments will probably open the way for commercial radio communication between the United States and A ustralia. RECORDS BROKEN. NEW YORK. January 27. At tlie International Indoor Athletic -Meeting, Nurmi won the three-quarter mile race, breaking the world’s record. Tlie distance was covered in 3min. 3 •1-5 secs. Willie Ritoln, Fiiinisli-Aniericnn runner, broke the world’s record for three miles, for the second time in a few days, winning in ldtniii. 4 secs. Harold Osborn, an American, broke the world’s indoor high jump by one inch, reaching Gft GJin.
