G LORTA GU'EY—FRIDAY. There is something about a Selzniek Picture, which invariably grips an audience, regardless of its theme, and “Bag and Baggage" which will have its premiere in the Princess Theatre on Friday is no exception to the rule. Phillip Anthony, a poor musician falls in love with the daughter of the wealthiest man in Goldendale. Her family are bitterly opposed to the match, and from the day of her marriacg to Anthony, have nothing to do with her. After her death, her grief stricken husband brings up their little girl, Hope in an atmosphere of love, music and gentleness. On the clay Hope is seventeen, one of Anthony’s pupils gives him a dog, which Hope names Harmony, and which she promptly takes t.o the brook to give a hath. Hope dines in tho gay restaurant on the hotel roof. Hal is there with Mrs Cooper, Lola, and Jathrow Billings, whom Mrs Cooper is trying to marry. Hal hastens to Hope’s table and arranges to meet her in tho hotel lobby tho following morning. In the middle of the night Jathrow Billings steals tho bag which contains the Cooper’s jewellery and starts down the fire escape. He enters Hope’s room and places the bag on the floor while lie looks around. ITo then picks up Hope’s hag' by mistake and slips out into the hall. lie goes to Ilal Tracy and leaves the hag with him, saying it contains valuable papers. Airs Cooper notifies the management of her loss and the hotel detective suspects Hope, whom he learns has left without paying her hill. He follows her to Goldendale, finds the missing jewellery in the hag she had been carrying and takes her to police headquarters. Hal arrives at the Anthony cottage just as the distracted musician is about to visit Hope at the jail. Tracy takes the old man in his car and they race to tho prison. Airs Cooper and Lola are demanding that Hope be prosecuted to the limit of the law. A two reel comedy, gazette, review ’and serial “Lightning Bryce” will support this gigantic star picture. AleLean’s Orchestra will render new and appropriate selections. Owing to the ferry steamer failing to connect with the West Coast Express yesterday wo were nimble to screen the “ AVhite Tiger ” as advertised in this paper yesterday. The management were informed at the last moment that the programme was dolaved so were compelled to show two 'stand-by .star dramas ,that were in had condition.
