[Reuters Telegrams.] ATTITUDE OF ALLIES. LONDON, Jan. 26. The Allied Note, sent to Germany, said that it. was not intended to eivEer at present, upon any discussion with the German Government, nor to deal with its allegations which could nowise be accepted. The Allied Governments will, at the earliest possible moment, it says, communicate what remains to ho done by Germany under Article 42!) of the Treaty of Versailles. It declares that the Government appears to have misunderstood the import of Articles •128 and 429 of the Treaty. It is for Germany, by fulfilling the obligations, to enable the Allies to restrict the occupation in the manner contemplated by Article 429. the provisions whereof the Allies intend scrupulously to observe. M. Herriot. Premier, in the French Chamber declared that the Allied control over German armaments had practically ceased during the Ruhr occupation. and was only resumed after a consultation between himself and Mr R. MacDonald, at Chequers, in proof of which he disclosed that Tvrupps made 2000 rifles during the occupation which were dispatched to the unoccupied area.
