Tho Press gloomily comments on the severe defeat of the French Rugby-ites at Edinburgh. “L’Oeuvre” says: “Our football is declining, new methods are necessary.” “L’lntransigeant” states: “We have one hundred thousand Rugby-ites in France, and we find fifteen who •■pally understand the game.” The “Echo do Sport” says: “We are forced to the conclusion that we have only fifteen players of International rank, if one fails we are lost.” AN IRISH PROTEST. The newspaper “Lanto” learns that the Irish Rugby Union have written to the French Rugby Federation, complaining of the attitude of the public
on the occasion of the Eranco-Trish match at Colombes on New Year’s Day, when the spectators forcibly expressed their disagreement with the referee. The Union adds that, in the interests of good relations between the two countries, such incidents should not be repeated. |
