THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES
'flip. Soviet Ob.ikctivu. Whatever vicissitudes of fortune have attended its career, the objective of the Soviet has remained the same. Capitali ism, say the Communists, is the enemy and it must he overthrown, by foul, apparently preferably, than by fair means. The great hindrance to the universal realisation of the Communist ideal is the British Empire. Even previous to the recent British elections, the Soviet-Third International combination realised that its vast expenditure of money and effort in Britain had practically gone for naught. British common-sense resolutely rejected Communism, and the Labour party, seeing in Communism no panacea for human pis. lias steadfastly refused the Communists admittance to its rnaks. —Svdnev Herald.
