A child 25 years and the mother left Auckland lor M hang.imatn purposely to avoid the disease, hut the child sickened, and was brought over the hills to Thames. FIVE MORE AUCKLAND CASES. AUCKLAND, January 24. Five eases of infantile paralysis were notified in the Auckland health district yesterday, making 36 cases, including four deaths, this month, and 42. including five deaths since the epidemic started fa December. The 36 cases this month are in 30 different localities, 25 being in Greater Auckland, and 11 in Hie country. An outstanding feature is the wide rouge pf distribution, front IVlungfirei
to the southern herder ot the province. Another feature is the .number of children in the best homes, who have been affected. Four adults, men from 18 to 28 have also been sufferers. NELSON CASE FATAL. NELSON. January 2G. The second case of infantile notified to-dnv had a fatal termination, after a day’s illness.
