Mr Matthew Charlton M.P., leader of the Opposition in tile Federal Parliament made a significant statement in an address to the East Maitland Labour League. fTe declared he tv as in possession of facts that led him to believe there was great danger ahead, and he regretted that if something were not done internationally they Mould he in a far worse condition than Europe Mas in prior to the great war. Continuing his speech. Mr Charlton said that the .Japanese were not the people of whom they should be afraid. Disarmament. he said, was not a party matter. All political parlies should be interested ill it.
