ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. Large yarding of lambs and (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Mcssr- H. Alr.Ason and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington ya-ds yesterday:—A very large yarding, mostly lambs, including, drafts from Southland and the West Coast; also some from Blenheim. The majority of the lambs were of very medium quality and the market, cspeoif'iy for this class opened 2s to 2s Oil be.ow last week. As the sale progressed prices hardened somewhat and any good rape lambs showed little difference from last sale. AVhat few Wethers were entered sold well at last week’s prices. There were practically no owes in. Best rape lambs 30s to 31s 7d, medium ditto 28s to 29s Od. good stubblers 25s Od to 27s Od. culls down to 18s Od. forward wethers 33s to 30s lftd. medium 31s to 32s Od. good 2 tooths 31s Od to 355. best 2 tooth :i-bred ewes -10 s, full and failing J-bred ewes 30s to 33s 4d, aged ewes 23s to 20s, aged ewes and lambs (all counted) 23s lftd.
Store cattle.- A fairly large yarding, including some big cattle, from the south; also from Marlborough. Although showing signs of travel they met with a good sale, as did all other classes. Forward bullocks made £9 0s Gd to £lO, 3yrs. ditto £4 5s to £5 12s Od, 18-month and 2yrs. ditto £3 to £3 19s, fresh cows 50s to £1 2s Od. Eat. pigs—A medium entry came forward of porkers and lmconers. Eight porkers sold fully up to late rates, but the heavier sorts of line-oners eased in price. Value's wore: Right porkers £2 10s to £2 18s. heavy £3 to £3 ss, average price 7d to 8<1; light bee-oners £3 10s to £3 15s. heavy £-1 to- £4 I.os. average price 51 d to Od : choppers £2 10s to £4 ss. Store pigs--A small entry came forward. Woaners were better than last weeks’ rates and medium and large stores sold at par. 1 allies were: Small weaners 18s to 235, better sorts 2->s to 30s. small stores 33 to 38s. medium 40s to 10s, larger to £2 13s. Beef A large yarding of about 480 bead being again mostly odd lots and cows. What steer beef was in was generally of good quality and met with a good sale, being quite 25s to 30s above last week. Cows and heifers were also (inner, but not to the n'.uo extent;. One consignment of Jest Coast cattle were yarded. Prime steers made £l7 10s to £2O. prime to £22 10s. medium £l4 5s to £l7, lighter and inferior down to £8 Is. prime he-ifers £lO 10s to £l3 2.S Od. medium £7 10s to £lO, others dmi-ii to £3 17s Oil; prime cows £lO to £l2 10s. extra to £ls ss. medium £7 Ills, to £9 15s. others down to £3 15s.
.Mutton A larger yarding than last week, the quality being hardly as good as at the previous sales. The sale opened at about par with last week's average rate, but towards the end eased off somewhat: although any good quality sheen held their own right through. Some really good sheep were yarded. The average decline all round was about Is Od. Prime wethers made llsto ■ 17,s (id. extra to 48s 7~d, mcdi'iiii 38s lo Ids (id. diln-is down to 30s f'-d, prune "»'cs ills to 38s. extra *.o about 40s (id. medium 31s to 33s Od, others down to 20s. Lambs- A large yarding and p-ues were easier. The quality generally was very indifferent. A fair number of West Coast: lambs wore offered, but in our opinion- these were hardly up to the quality id last season's first diafis. However, they sold well on tin*, 'lay. the average over all price being 12d.
