Some i, i' the company's vessels will call at Algiers and Port Sudan instead of Marseilles in future. OVERSEAS VESSEL INVOLVED. MELBOURX E. January 20. Though a notice was posted inviting the seamen to apply for vacancies on the White Star liner Medic, none presented themselves. The vessel is due to sail to-dav. It is suggested that this is the first move to involve overseas seamen, as this has been threatened by officials of the Seamen's Union. THE NAIRANA. HOBART. January 20. The Nairatia was coaled at Launceston by Unionists working all night on the vessel. Each town is allotted so many berths and strict precautions are being taken against stowaways. Some people icnmined on the wharf all night in the hope of obtaining a berth.
