TWO SIGNALS. There are two serious signals of kidney ills. The first signal conics from Hie back, with its numerous aches and pains, and the second signal conics in the kidney secretions. Urination is infrequent, too frequent, or excessive. You should hood these danger signals before chronic complications set in. Take Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills, a remedy recommended by your friends and neighbours. Mr John Lynch, who lives at Jackson’s, near Greymouth, says: “After suffering for some time from several distressing symptoms of kidney trouble such as backache, dizzy attacks, urinary disorder and sleepless nights, t was urged to try a course of Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills. The recommendation, I felt sure, was genuine, so I commenced taking the Pills, carefully following the directions. In a few days the pain in my back felt a little easier and I could move without suffering so acutely. 1 was delighted at this improvement, which as I continued with the medicine , was well maintained, until finally I was cured. I only used five bottles of Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills, and my cure is perfect. My back is free from pain, tiro dizzy turns have left me, and I sleep soundly all night. I cannot say enough in praise of this fine remedy, and recommend other sufferers to give it a trial.” Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills are sold by all chemists and storekeepers at 3s per bottle, or will be posted on receipt of price by Foster-McClellan Co., 15 Hamilton Street, Sydney. But, be sure you get DOAN’S.
The beautiful spell of weather now being experienced on the Milford Sounds track lias had the effect of drying up numerous creeks and small lakes (writes the correspondent of the “Southland News”)- Even Lake Ada, at the Sounds end, is abnormally low and is not an object of special interest at the present time. It is indeed aremarkable lake, being a submerged forest, and tlie tree trunks standing straight on end are clotted above the surface of the water all over the lake in its present low state. The river evidently ran through this valley in some remote period, until a gigantic land slide blocked its progress and dammed it up to form the lake, from, the bottom end of which the river escapes with great violence to form the Arthur river. As the tourists cross ibis lake in a boat they are greatly .interested in the submerged forest and •also in a long sandbank in which is a great resort for wild duck of every species, which take no notice of the passing of the tourist boat right alongside them. It is an excellent opportunity for travellers to study at close quarters the native Paradise, Blue Mountain, Plac-k and Brown teal and Grey ducks. Among this little coterie is an ordinary domestic duck which appears quite at home among the wild species. It evidently came from one of the late D. Sutherland’s flock, or perhaps by crossing with the wild ducks. A curious phenomenon in the flake at the present time is the presence of countless air bubbles rising from the bottom of the lake, the reason for which no one seems to be able to explain. Altogether Lake Ada atthe present moment is a beautiful and fascinating study.
