The conference of M’atersiders federation, Returned Soldiers and Sailors AVaterside Union and steamship owners ended without an agreement being reached. Farrar (Minister of Labour) attended. It is stated it is the intention of the Government to adminisei strictly, the Returned Soldiers and Sailors Employment Act, which gives preference to returned men. The Government will not he a party to any breach of the law and will enforce the act whether against an individual or an organisation.
