A Navy Appropriation Rill, carrying 298.799,78(1 dollars, was reported to the Senate bv the Naval Affairs Committee to-day. The Committee added 89(1,350 dollars to a Hill as passed hv the House, but left it seven thousand under the Hudget estimate. The Senate’s action on the measure is exnet-led .shortly. Additional funds for ordnance supplies. which item embraces the funds for the Australian cruise, are embodied in th new Hill. The Naval Committee has increased the amount by 375,000 dollars, to 21.017 thousand dollars, which the Navy Repartitionl has requested, through the lludget Bureau. Tins makes available all the funds which Lite Department wanted when it contemplated the Paeilie cruise. There is no mention of the plans of the visit, in the report, and no copy of the testimony taken during tno hearing lie fore the Senate Appropriations Committee is given out, hut it is understood that Secretary Wilbur has apprised the Members of the Committee ol the plans when he was -living evidence.
