The order amounts to nearly £ol)t).- ()().'). The company won it in spite of keen competition from America and other quarters. . The work includes the equipment <>l 150 motor-coaches and luO trailercoaches with two 350-1,.p. 1.500-volts motors, with electro-pneumatic control gear. A MAYOR WANTED. LONDON, December 23. Eastbourne is experiencing difficulty in finding a mayor. A special committee of the I own Council has tried every possible candidate inside and outside the council without finding a man or woman willing to accent the office. The present mayor, Alderman Soddy, has served two years, and business claims prevent him from continuing another year.
