It is understood that no tenders were received for the purchase of the motor launch and boats, the property of ihe Westland Acclimatisation Society at Lake Kauiori. It is likely that the boats will he hauled up anil hold for future sale. The large marine boiler which has laid on the waterfront for over hall a century, was moved yesterday to a new position to he used lor a Ircsli purpose which will probably add a century to its life. The boiler in question for many years rested in trout of the Customs lluii-e, bill was moved further up the Quay, when the railway was extended round the wharf. Now it has been acquired by the Katiicri Electric Power Coy. and is to he used as a container for oil in connection with the Diesel oil engine plant to be installed in Weld St reel, to supplement the present steam stand-by plant.
