Coates made a. statement last night relative to the broadcasting of Dominion news to ships trading in the Pacific. At present the Amalgamated Wireless Coy. forwards daily messages up to one hundred words ~~ addressed only to ships manned by operators employed liv the Amalgamated Coy. Other skips are not allowed to receive or use this message. The Postal Department has now arranged to forward nightly, except Sundays and holidays, about two hundred words of Dominion news and no restrictions are placed on its reception or use. FARMER’S SAD DEATH. ROTORUA, December 21. Robert Shelton, a farmer, of Kaharoa, married with a family of small children, died in the hospital as the result of spinal injuries received through being dragged by his liorso on the farm.
