Accused in a statement, said that she is a certified nurse. She arrived' at Wellington from Australia in .March last, and came to Auckland in September. She took charge of Warkworth Hospital on October Jth. Accused had a prison record in Australia.
Air Boynton, S.AI., said the accused was a morohiue maniac, and a notorious criminal, and should he sent hack to Australia. He recorded conviction on three charges, and the woman was remanded for a week for sentence. OBITUARY. NELSON, December 23. The death is recorded of Dr W. R. IVarless, aged 70. Deceased served throughout the South African War, and the Great AYar, and held the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. His fine work in Gallipoli in caring for the wounded will lie remembered hv many. General Richardson, during a visit to Nelson Home time ago, ireferred to Dr Rearless as “ that grand old veteran.” Deceased in the early days took a keen interest in the volunteer movement, and was also a prominent figure in sporting circles.
