The last gazette notifies that cetifieates of naturalisation have been issued to IS persons including Gustave Wydlcr of Roa.

Within tin* last fortnight, members of the All Saints' Institute have been making a collection to provide* inmates of the Old People's Home with a cash donation to assist them in suitably celebrating the festive season. Mr L. Sinclair Thompson lias been appointed Wellington manager of the National Bank of New Zealand, in place of -Mr J. Gibson Stott, who retires after lengthy service at the end of the year, and will travel with his daughters no the Uniitinent and in the Mnth‘*r Country before settling in Auckland. Mr Sinclair Thompson joined the hank in Dunedin 25 years ago. and has been in the Wellington nllico for thirteen years, lie was lor sec on years sub-accountant, and received tho appointment of accountant in July. 1921. The new Wellington manager saw three years of active service in the New Zealand -Rifle Brigade during tlu* war, ending with the rank ol captain.
