Biss .Moore has no “clonk!:- ' in these scenes; she plays the "ame herself and she plays it with a skill that would put some hie; leaguers to shame. 'Wearing a heavy mask and a protector, she crouches behind tl’o plate with professional stance. and “spears’’ the hall every time. They cannot come too fast for her. The play is an adaptation of Richard Connell's delightful story of small town life. Directed by Clarence Badger, it i.s interpreted by a sterling east of players, including Colleen Moore. Ben Lyon, Charlotte Merriam. Charlie Murray, Sam Do Grasse. Joseph Striker. Bussell Simpson, Marv Carr. Mary Alden. Anna Q. Nilsson and June Elvidge. On Wednesday next a special Master Picture entitled “The Man with Two Mothers’’ will lie porsonled starring Cullen l.audis. Alary Alden and Sylvia Dreamer.

NELLIE BRAMLEY COY. “IT PAYS TO ADVERTISE.” On Friday next (Boxing Night) that brilliant American comedy “It Pays to Advertise”, will be put on by the Nellie Bromley Oompnnyat tin* Princess Theatre. It- is a specimen of the farcical comedy at its best, in which there is quite a good working (dot which keeps one guessing right tip to the last, and plenty of fun and laughter all the w;u through. The story is luiilt on the merits of advertising on a grand scale, and is a kind of humorous testimony to the susceptibility of the public to this form of business persuasion. Comedy is the keynote of the play, and the keynote of the comedy was Carl Dawson. who plays the part of Ambrose I’eale. the advertising enthusiast. His work alone would be sufficient to impart merit to any comedy. Of genuine merit, too. was the work of Aliss Nellie Brantley, who look the aprt of Alary Crayson. the brainy secretary. The ease and naturalness of lier acting makes it never less than delightful. The other roles are all well placed in the hands of a very capable set. of artists. The second production of the season is the world lamed drama ‘'Bought and Paid For” and the third i- that beautifully acted play “Sunday". The box plans are at Aliss .Mclntosh's sweetshop.
