From Southland Progress League inviting expression of opinion regarding a eonferenee of South Island League representatives to advance South Island interests.-- Received and approved heartily with the promise to endeavour to be represented if the date was suitable, Messrs Bruce and Evans to be asked to attend the proposed conference to be held at Invercargill some time in February. Tt was reported ]7r. Teiclielmaiin would visit Christchurch on Thursday lor the purpose of conferring; with the Executive of the Canterbury Progress League, relative to the reading scheme suggested for the far south of AVostland. A locality map and a good deal of general information had been collected and the data would be placed before the Canterbury Committee. Some accounts were passed for payment, and the Hon. Secretary intimated that* subscriptions were now due. It was resolved to hold the next ordinary meeting on the 10th. January. ( The meeting closed at 1.3.” p.m. (
