The sudden tightening of the'Spanish censorship is a symptom of the seriousness of the situation in Morocco, following on the reported rising of the Anjera tribes between Tetuaii and Tangier, which is disturbing French diplomatic circles, who, while confident of their ability to defend the Tangier zone from possible attack, apprehend international entanglements owing to the dissatisfaction of several countries, especially Italy, with the recent Tangier convention. The l’aris newspapers comment most anxiously. They declare that Paris is in constant contact with Madrid. Precautions are being taken to prevent incursion of Abdel I\rim’s forces into Tangier.
