From llcpartmeiit of Internal Affairs notifying approval of annual levy.— Received. From Westport Fire Hoard asking for particulars of duties of Secretary.— Received. From S. AY. liidlands, night watchman. asking that the. Telltale Clock he placed in the bell lower. Received; consideration deferred. From Canterbury Fire Underwriters’ Association asking for returns.— Received; already supplied. From J. .1. Williams. thanking Hoard for appointment as deputy superintendent.— Received. From Inspector lingo forwarding annual report, staling lie bad inspected on .251 li. January. Two oHirers and 17 firemen were in attendance tit the inspection muster. The steam lire engine and other inspection drills were carried out in the efficient manner customary with this brigade. The stations anil equipment were in the usual good order and condition. The at tendance at the live lire calls averaged 77 per cent of the the membership a fair record.— Received.

Superintendent Hraddoii reported that trouble had been experienced with tile steam engine, stand-pipe and connections. but tiie.se bad been remedied and the engine was working as well as ever. The lire escape at the Princess Theatre had received the necessary attention. Intt the passage way on the soutTi side, downstairs, was not always kept clear, as desired. The fire escape at the Opera House required at. tion which had been promised to be attended to.—Received and left with the Superintendent for attention.
