Matuvor of the South Island Motors T td.. stated that the test would be of the utmost value to the public as it afforded them an opportunity of ganiji,.r information of undoubted autlieiiti-,-ifv as to what tho “Overland” was capable of doing, as every care has been taken to ensure the test being inn under conditions which the private owner will encounter without the mechanical strain entailed by seven davs and seven nights continuous running. The ear to he used is a certified standard stock model in every respect,

the only alteration to the standard equipment being an extension control to the dash of the Standard “Overland” Carburettor Jet Adjusting Needle, an alteration that can lie made to any standard Overland at a cost not exceeding twenty shillings. Observers, appointed by the C.A.A. will he passengers in the ear throughout the run and at all times four passengers inclusive of the driver and observer, will he carried so that the official record, which will he kept of all Petrol and Oil consumed during the entire week’s 11011-stop run, will be evidence of “Overland” economy under ordinary load touring conditions. An estimating competition will be held in connection with the run, prizes totalling £2O being offered for the most accurate computation of the total amount of petrol and oil consumed. Messrs Wild and Bassett are the local agents for the above ear.
