The statement of the trafiic returns on all sections of the New Zealand railways from April Ist to November Bth, 1021, shows that as compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, the number of passengers carried lias decreased by 112,510 though the number of season ticket, holders has increased by 2252; the number of cattle carried has increased by 13,767, while the number of sheep and pigs carried has decreased by 51,525; 33,351 more tons of timber were carried, but 80,611 tons loss of other goods. SEVEN MONTHS’ REVENUE. Revenue from April Ist to November Stli:— North Island, £2,399,757 (£2,341,657). South Island, £1,581,522 (£1,575,981). Grand total, £3,981,280 (£3,917,639). A total increase in revenue of £03,641. Expenditure from April Ist to November Stli: — North Island, £1,505,806 (£1,821,497). South Island, £1,488,951 (£1,181,239). Grand total, £3,357,700 (£3,302,737). A total increase in expenditure of £55.023. Deducting this amount from the increased revenue (£63,6-11), gives a net increase in revenue of £B,OIS for the period nf rather more than eight months.
