HOKITIKA HARBOUR BOARD

The Board met yesterday at -1.30 p.m. Present: Messrs G. A. Wood. (Chairman). T. W. Bruce. W. Ziegler, ■I. Lloyd and C. J. Nightingale. The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. From Merchant Service Guild, stating that Hokitika Light is not considered urgently necessary.—Received. From Kanieri Fleetric Ltd. accepting offer of old boiler.—Received. From I). J. Kvans. Hon. See. Kxhibition Committee inviting Board to lie represented at meeting at Greymouth. to set up an executive for the organisation of Coast representation at the Dunedin Fxhibition.—Received, ft was resolved that the purpose has the Board’s strong sympathy, hut it is regretted that finance does not permit the Board to actively participate. The signalman reported a straight channel with 14ft. of water, and that another 70ft. of the south training wall bad gone to sea and disappeared : also that the remainder of the wall right to the main beach is swaving to and fro with the sea.—Received : no action taken. The Secretary was instructed to take legal proceedings forthwith to recover all rents in arrear.
