[Reuters Telecrams.] GOVERNOR OF SUDAN. BRITAIN PROPOSES: EGYPT NO.M [NATES. CAIRO, December I. A Royal Decree nominates Sir Geoffrey Archer Governor-General of the Sudan. The former procedure is thus followed, whereby Britain proposes and the King of Egypt nominates the Gover-nor-General. EG YI’TI AN S KTTLKM ENT. CAIRO, Dee. 5. It is understood Premier Zirwar has informed the President of the Chamber. that Government has no intention of advising Ilis Majesty to convoke Parliament. COURT MARTIAL AT KHARTOUM. CAIRO, Dee. 5. A court-martial at Khartoum sentenced to death four officers involved in the mutiny. One sentence was commuted to fifteen years. The three others were shot <’o-.vi'. All four were from the Musketry School. EGYPTIAN PROTEST. LONDON. Dec. 5. The Egyptian Association of Britain and Ireland have issued a piotest against “the latest attempts bv the press to inflame public opinion against Egyptians, hv irresponsible imaginary statements concerning Egyptian students in England.” It declares that‘Egypt’s nationalist movement is purely legal and constitutional, and is not one of violence. HUNTING AFTER STUDENTS. LONDON. Dec. (5. Scotland Yard men are visiting the haunts of Egyptian students, ai d ir.c paying special attention to places where they foregather, but no arrests have been made.
