COMM ITTKF. M EKTI NG. The Committee met at 9.10 p.m. Present : Ale-,sis AYilliams (Chair), Neville. Ah Gregor. Adamson, Thom])son, Alelntosh. Rutland. Houston. Peake and Kvans.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Secretary submitted the entries received totalling 225, with some 70 horses competing. These figures were an increase on those of lost year. I he nominations were received as very satisfactory, auguring well for the success of the meeting at Christmas. The Minister of Internal Affairs intimated he would inspect the Hokitika racecourse during the present month. It was stated the grounds and buildings were in first class order. The County Clubs Association notified ate ion in regard to applications for racing permits. —Received with thanks. The Racing Conference advised that Mr R. G. Black of Christchurch would he the racecourse inspector, and Mr A. S. Jones of Timaru. the deputy stipe n cl i a rv steward. Approved. The Railway Department supplied particulars of the race trains, which would afford connection both ways on the two race days between Hokitika, and Reefton. Utira. Rewanuf, Blackball ■Ross and all intermediate stations. There would he two rare trains in both mornings, one being an express from Grevinouth stopping only at Elmer Lane and Ktimara. and on Boxing Daytwo trains out at night, for Greymouth. the first being the express connecting with all northern stations, and three trains out on the Saturday night. Tho service with Ross would be very convenient also.—Received with thanks. It was resolved to instruct Houston

and Coy., to sell the booths at the Princess Theatre next Saturday afternoon.

The Secretary reported arrangements were being completed for Afrs 0. Fowler to take charge of the afternoon tea rooms.—Approved. It was resolved to procure a humane killer for the Club.

Complimentary remarks were passed on the handsome cup donated by the Licensed Vit tuallers for the "Westland Alile race. The price of admission to the course was reviewed, and the charge fixed at 7s for gentlemen; ladies to he free as heretofore. Jt was resolved to prohibit the entrance of young children, particularly to the stands unless under the control of someone. ft was decided to make the usual arrangements with the Afunicipal Band. The report in regard to the grounds and appointments was received as very satisfactory, and the good work done by the Caretaker in carrying out the painting so satisfactorily, was appreciated hv the speakers. Before the meeting concluded, on the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Air Alt Gregor, a vote of condolence was passed to Afrs Grimmoiid in connection with the demise of the ITon. Grimmoiid who had been patron of the Club and a close supporter.
