AMERICAN MOTOR RETURNS. American licensing returns up to the end of June indicate a progress in the use of motor vehicles that can only he described as amazing. In lfßs there were only 2.000,000 motor vehicles registered. whereas now there are no Fewer than 171,523,893, an increase during nine years of over 131 millions, and for the past 12 months of 2,475,770, or 19 per cent. The advance is spread over all parts of the United States, but is most marked in California. New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. It is estimated that U.S.A. has now one ear for every i■of the population. California takes the with one for every 3.2 inhabitants. •
