WILFUL DAMAGE.
ORKYMOU I'll, December ft. At the Magistrate's Court yesterday, Edward George l.eiteh of Blackball, appeared on a charge of wilfully damaging a motor-ear tyre valued at t.j Ills (id. the property of Frank Turner. l.eiteh pleaded guilty to this charge and also to one cm which lie appeared, conjointly with Richard Claik, namely, the theft of window cord, the property of the Canterbury Education Board. It was stated by Detective-Sregl. •!. 11. Young that the youths were truckers at the Rlaekball Mine, and were in the habit nl camping at Moonlight al the week-ends. They had ever since they started to come to Moonlight been a general nuisance to tin* residents. On the occasion under notice they had created a disturbance at a dance, and afterwards il was found that the tyre of a resident's motor-ear had been cut riglu through, and that the cords in the school had hocn out. The Detective-Sergeant added that he interviewed them siih .i-.pieut ly, and holh admitted the oll'ciii-es. Their had boon oilier ol their aumoiiig behaviour.
