IUKTBALIAN AND N.Z. CAULK ASSOCIATION. SYDNEY .MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS. SYDNEY. December I. Polling in the civic elections to-day aroused great interest. Voting proceeded all day animatedly. There is every indication of u record poll, the decision being contested by the Civic Reform Party, the La hour Party, and the Independents. The latter are largely constituted of what arc known ns the breakaway portion of the Civic Reform Party. There arc few abolutelv Independent candidates.
MARINE STEWARDS. SYDNEY. December I. Apparently the marine stewards ■ nullified their attitude towards the .Moroton Bav. A meeting ol the union passed a resolution that the union should endeavour to elfei t a settlement of the dispute by getting the Commonwealth to reinstate the forty-seven stewards dismissed from, the Moreton Bay on other vessels of the Commonwealth Line. Hitherto the union has demanded, that the dismissed 4, men he reinstate on the Moreton Bay.
