McLEAN’S PICTURES. ■ <>■ SHERLOCK HOLMES, TUESDAY. Ate Loan’s present on Tuesday. John Barrymore, whose screen appearances have been marked by quality rather than quantity, in n characterisation which lie has declared to be the most interesting he has ever made—none other than fiction’s greatest detective —Sherlock Holmes. “Sherlock Jlohnes” was directed by Al Parker. Perhaps no other character in fiction, is so universally liked and known, and from all indications, the same universal interest is attaching itself to the picturisation of the famous detective story. Aside from the magnet of having so distinguished an actor essay the stellar role, the supporting east has l>ocn chosen with such definite cure and detail, that it reads like a roster of the !>est known players of the stage and screen. In fact, the making of the picture was delayed until every character down to the most unimportant super, was perfectly cast. In the cast of players occur such distinguished names as Carol Dempster, who plays the role of Alice Faulkner; Roland A’oung, who is the faithful Watson, and Gustave von Seyfiertitz, who gives an amazing portrait of the despicable Professor Moriarty. Iledda Hopper, Anders Randolph, Per-t-ival Knight, Lumsden llare Louis AVulheim, John AVillaril and Reginald Denny are also in the roster. A good supporting programme will he screened.
