Darcy lladlield, of Auckland, who is now the world’s sculling champion, has advised George Waroham, Put Hannan's trainer that he is pepared to row Haniiait for the world’s chainpionsltip. No details have yet liccn arranged, hut .Mr Wareltam informed a rejiorter this morning that lie was expecting a letter from Auckland, giving an idea of the champion’s wishes in the matter. Mr Wareltam considers that, in all probability, the race will lake place early in ike New Year, probably either tit 11 si milt on or Wanganui, the choice of the locality being entirely in lladlield’s own ltnds.
Hannan had an uphill light in winning his way hack to battle lor the championship, since he was deleatd by Artist on the Wairau River in 19*21. Since (hen Hannan lias sucessfully disposed of Fogwell twice, dumbo Wells twice, Felton and McDevilt twice, and A rust. Now he stands without doubt as champion of Australasia, and lie is undoubtedly the mail with the first call to meet the world’s champion.
