Almeida resisted and was seriously wounded in the chest iiv a revolver shot. Notwithstanding this, he chased the men. He overtook a man, whom he thought was concerned in the hold-up, and marched him back to the bank at tbe point of the revolver, and then collapsed, just before handing him over to the police. It is not known whether anything was stolen. The police have made an arrest.

When in ■London he indicated the Commonwealth was prepared to reduce by twenty per cent the Austin .an terminal charges in respect to all classes of traffic for which the cable companies agreed to make a proportional reduction.
