MIDLAND BANK CASE.
[Reuters Telegrams.] DOCUMENTS NOT PRODUCED. J ONDON, Nov. 21. When the hearing of the .Midland Bank ease was resumed Hobbs was called. lie said that he laid not tho cheques which lie had been asked to produce, and the documents for which Sir John Simon had asked had been stolen from his box. Ho asserted that the man was in the Court, this being ('apt. Moss. Hobbs alleged that Moss paid .<’2B for them. The Judge, ordered Moss to he kept in t lie Court.
Counsel stated lie did not wish to call .Moss.
Lord Halsbury said be would accept copies of the letters and other documents possessed by the defence as original.
Lyam Davis, plaintiff’s solicitor, gave evidence in regard to the interview lie and Robinson had with the manager of the Midland Bank. He said Robinson told the manager he was unaware of the existence of an account for CldU.fKf'.l in his name, and bis signature attached to a letter opening tbo account was a forgery. He stated Hobbs bad ottered C2d,(!l>.) to settle the matter, but this was refused.
