The trouble between the Commonwealth Shipping Line and the Stewards and Pantrymen’s Union, which was referred to the court, was heard by Mr Justice Powers who said be thought the* Commonwealth Line should have prosecuted the men and given them a chance to defend themselves. The men were given good discharges but be could not order the union to provide men when the services of those who were dismissed were refused.
