Afr A. W. Fowler, assistant AuditorGeneral. was in Hokitika to-day in • cem ctii'ii with the business of his Department. An accident happened, at the Waikukupa bridge construction woiks on Tuesday to a young mail John Kelly, sou of Mr .lames kelly of South Spit. Both father and son were engaged on the works when the young man feli from the structure a distance of about 2() feet, hut he escaped with a fracture of the left arm and other bruises. The injured man was brought to town by motor ear, arriving on Wednesday morning about 2 o’clock. Ilis injuries are not of a severe nature as were at first feared and lie is progressing towards recovery. It will bo remembered that this bridge eonstuctioii works war the scene of a fatality some month? ago, when Air G. AlcEnroe lost hi? life.
