Matson and Co., report ns follows regarding their slock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— There was a larger yarding than at the last sale, including a consignment from Marlborough. The market al! round was decidedly firmer, especially for any good shearing sheep. Ewes and lambs also sold better. Threequarter breed aged ewes in wool and lambs up to 27s (all counted), medium 21s {<> 235, 2, -I, G. and 8-tooth shorn I'omnoy ewes 31s 10(1, 2-tooth wethers (good) 2.1 s to 28s Gd, forward wethers 33s to 3Gs lOd, woolly cress-bred ewe hoggets to 17s, wether hoggets 33s to lls 3d It was a great sale all round Store cattle—Only a medium yarding and no quotable lines were offering prices showing little variation from last sale.

Heel,—An exceptionally large yarding, consisting of over GOO head. The quality generally was very good and included about 70 bead of XoT'tli Islanders. as well as two or three Coast consignments. The market was generally easier all round, although there were many exceptional sales; but there were too many for butchers' requirements ami. in our opinion, prices were 30s to -lo.s per head below last sale. Prime steers made £IG to £lB los. extra to 21s. medium l'l I 10s lo £IG As. others down to £B, prime lieiters £ll 10s to £l3 IDs. extra to £ll Ins, medium £8 As to £ll. others down to CA 10s; prime cows CO lAs, to £l2 Ms, extra to £IA 17. s Gd. medium £7 As to L 0 10s. others down to £! 3s.

Fat pigs,—A medium entry came forward and all classes sold freely, although slightly easier than at last sale. Values were; Light porkers C'2 8-s to £2 los, heavy £2 17s Gd to £3 10s Gd. average price 7)d to 8d ; light baeoners £3 Ills to £l, heavy :Cl As to Cl 10s, average price G(d to 7d; choppers £2 Ms to £A.

Store Pigs—A medium entry came forward and the demand for all classes was slightly easier than late rates. The sale opened ui) fairly well. Imt hardly up to last week’s rates. The entry comprised ■several excellent consignments from the Chatham Islands which sold well. Talcing the sale all round there was a decline of Is (Id to 2s. Woolly sheep sold exceptionally well. Prime wethers made -12 s Od to Ids fid, extra 50s 2d. medium 3Ss to Ils fid. lighter 32s to 37s fid, prime ewes 3os fid to 12s fid. extra to 17s fid. medium 30s fid to 3os, lighter and inferior 22s fid to 30s. prime woollv wethers nils to "us, extra to G3s 7,1, medium 10s fid to 32s fid. others .pis to ISs fid. prime woolly ewes Ils fid to Ifis fid. extra to 50s. others down to 375. Considering, the large yarding the sale must lie considered a good one. Lambs. —A fairly large yarding and demand was keen throughout, hut prices showed no advance on last sale.
