“HEART OF THE NORTH.” TUESDAY. McLean’s present on Tuesday evening Roy Stewart and Louise Lovely in “The Heart of the North”. This is a drama of the far northwest, where none but tbe bravest can withstand tile hardships of a region beset with snow and ice and a country harbouring lawless men and wild animals. It is a land where the frail and weak perish at tho wayside in the inexorable game of life, and where only brute strength dominates. The interesting outdoor scenes were actually photographed “north of sixty” at a considerable expense, so that realism would result. Those responsible for the photoplay should he congratulated upon obtaining the combined services of Roy Stewart and Louise Lovely in the leading roles. Not only are the scenic splendour and (plaint natural settings a feature of this intense drama of the Canadian country, hut, there are many other equally interesting scenes. Among them are several teams of -cal Eskimo dogs drawing heavy-laden sleighs across the snow and ice, an actual chase of a silver fox that ovont--lall.v meets his doom ill a trap, and the awe-inspiring spectacle of a terrific forest fire. A great laughter-making comedy “Champion hy Chance,” a scenic and gazette, with lull orchestral accompaniments complete a fine programme.
Keenan’s Inis leaves Rimu on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
