KANIERI CONCERT & BAIL
The Concert and Rail held at Kanieri on Wednesday evening in aid of the Kanieri State School Prize Fund was one t.f the most successful held for years past, the hall being packed, ami the vari ms items on the programme met with a hearty reception. Air F. W. Selby (Chairman of the Committee) presided, and during the interval thanked till who had assisted to make the affair such a success. The following was the programme submitted : Overture. Air and Aliss Crough; Chorus by Juniors, “A Fairy Boat”; |{e: Ration. Constance Newman; Solo, Aliss Wylie; Dance, Aliss Cameron; Instrumental trio. Air Thorpe, and Mr F. and I', (ioodfellcw ; Solo, Air Bulpill; Chorus by Sonio:s -Floating”; Solo, Air Watson; Act by boys “Wee Bobby Barefoot.”; Song hv gills “Lullaby”; Violin solo. Mr C. Thorpe; Rouml, ‘ Hark the Bonny Christchurch Bells”. “God Save the King.” The Ball which followed, was largely attended and excellent music was supplied l,y A less is A. 'Lawn and C. A. Rooney had charge of the floor and carried out his duties to the satisfaction of all. Dancing was kept up until about 3.30 a.ill. all voting the Ball a great success.
