The Stock Fxchange has had a small boom since the announcement of the election results and Thursday’s settlement was reported to he the biggest this year. .Most sections showed great activity and the settlement brought some profit-taking, which caused a slight reaction m prices, and giltedge-, cased a little on money becoming tight and causing some fears. possibly premature, of an advance in the bank rate. Another cause of this movement in gilt edges was the possibility of a trade revival, which is likely to draw money from investment stocks and also the imminence of several now large issues.
