That there has been trouble in Spain appears from telegrams from Perpignan announcing the arrest of twenty Spaniards tvlui confessed that they were engaged in a plot against the Diiectory. A telegram from Barcelona describes the police pursuit of the suspects and a prolonged fight with revolvers in the Boulevard at San Antonio resulting in the: killing of one policeman and the wounding of another. 'I lie.* arrest of seven suspects, all carrying bombs and revolvers is also described.

The Spanish Embassy in London states that an armed band of thirty entered the province of Navarra Irom Trance and were forced t,> recross the frontier, leaving one dead, one wounded and five prisoners. Ihe attempt to seize the barracks at Barcelona was also defeated and the assailants arrested, (Ireat excitement continues in eonscc|m!nce of the reports that efforts are being made to smuggle arms at many points along the frontier. Numerous arrests have licen made at various posts.

A Madrid cominimbpie details a collision between the police and invaders at Amplona near the French frontier, in which two police and five invaders were killed. Twenty seven of the latter were arrested. The c-ommunicpie states that the affair is apparently part of the revolutionary movement initiated by the anarchists across the French frontier in conjunction with the Spanish syndicalist cxtienlists.
