“ OUTLAWED TO-NIGHT. To-night (Saturday) -McLean’s Pictures present “ Outlawed ” a spectacular drama. Having specialised in big pretentious Western productions and having several of the season’s successes to his credit, Richard Kipling, nho presents the elaborate special production of Selznick’s ‘ “ Outlawed ” maintains that the so-called “ Westerns ” are by far the most popular pictures that find their way to the screens of the world. “As theatrical seasons come and go,” says Air Kipling, “there are short intervals during which other types of stories seems to win the popular fancy to the exclusion of all others; that is, of all others hut the Westerns. No matter what the prevailing taste for drama may be, whether it is society drama, under-world drama, rural drama or wild melodrama, tbe popularity of stories of our great West never seems to lessen. Whether it is because of the pieturesqueuess of the characters or the fact that Western stories are thoroughly red-blooded American, I cannot say; hut this lias been clearly demonstrated to me; a good wholesome Western story, well told and well acted is sure to receive a royal welcome from picture audiences.” The supports include a gazette, serial “Hurricane Hutch” and the full orchestra.
