England commenced a match against a Goldfields eleven at Ivalgoorlie. England in the first innings lost _9 lor 3-10. (Sutcliffe 38, Sandliam 30. Moollev 07, Hcndren -10, Kilner 03, Tate 31. Tyldesley not out -9). Goldfields’ first innings realised 42, the only double figures being Foulson 13. Giiligau took 2 wickets for 0, Tate 3 for 8, Freeman 5 for 18, Kilner 3 for 1. Each side tlicui had a short knock. England making 111 for 3 and Goldfields 52 for 7. The match was drawn. ADELAIDE. Nov. 2.
Tn the first innings South Australia made 518 runs. V. Richardson scored 123. Grimmet 59 and Williams (not out) 30. In the bowling,.Wallace took 2 for 123, and Ilcndry 1 for 134. A ictoria lost two wickets for 32, Mayne making 12. The weather was fine and the wicket good. Richardson and Grnnmett showed sparkling, punishing pla>> Richardson being flawless, excepting for one hard chance.
