ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. MUTTON FIRMER. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs 11. Malsuu and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale al Addington yards yesterday:— Store Sheep,—A very small entry, mostly ewes with lambs at foot, and with flu: exception of one small line, were mostly very inferior. One or two pens of decent shorn wethers were also forward anil met with a good demand, hut oil the whole the sale showed little difference. One good line of ewes and lambs made 29s all counted, other.') 19. s ftd to 23s 2d, forward shorn wethers to 29s 3d, others 21s to 2bs 2d, .shorn hoggets to fils. Store cattle A fair sized yarding and generally of nondescript and odd lets, although there were two or three pens of decent forward steers in, as well as a few nice 18 months old cattle. Best fi and lyrs. bullocks mado up to C 7, 18-months steers to £fi bs. Odd lots and cows showed little change. Fat ll’igb—An icxioptionally large yarding of porkers and baconers and in consequence the prices for till classes were considerably lower. Values were: Light porkers £2 7s to £2 lfis, heavy £2 tos to L’fi, average price 7icl to 8d ; light baconers £fi 7s to .(Ms, heavy £1 bs to £1 10s, extra to £-1 19s, average price (bid to 7.N1; choppers £2 10s to Cb 10s.
Store pigs.—-A large entry came forward and despite the drop in prices of haconers and porkers, competition was very keen and all classes sold freely at late rates. Values were: Weaneis very small 20s to 275. good sorts 80s to 335, small stores 35s to 40s, medium 43s to 48s, large to 7>ss. No sows in pig were offering. Beef.—A large yarding comprising 490 head as against 412 last week. Not many North Islanders were offering although one shipment of 32 arrived too late lor the sale. The market opened up slightly easier than last week - , but
firmed up as the sale progressed. To the finishing stages prices were much easier and passings were fairly frequent. On the whole there was practically no quotable difference from last sale. Prime steers made .CIS to £2l,
extra to 1:23 ,3s, medium £1.5 10s to £l7 1.35, lighter £l2 to £l;s. others down to £O, prime heifers £l2 10s to £ls, medium £f) to £ll 15s, others down to £6. prime cows £ll 15s to £M, medium £8 15s to £ll, others down to £1 15s.
Mutton.—A smaller yarding than last week and a larger proportion of shorn sheep. The market opened up firmer and improved as it progressed
until about the middle of the sale, when the market became irregular and fluctuated considerably till the finish. Woolly sheep, in our opinion, were in better demand than shorn and on the whole the market can be quoted ns firmer. Woolly sheep—Prime wethers made 52s fill to 5Ss, extra to G2s fid, medium 48s fid to 525, lighter -13 s to •18s, prime ewes -16 s Cd to 535. extra to CDs, medium -10 s fid to 465. lighter 35s fid to 40s, others down to 31s.
Shorn Sheep—Prime wethers 39s to 45s •Id, extra to 47s 3d, medium 35s to 38s. lighter down to 30s fid, prime owes 32s Cd to 365, extra to 465, medium 28s Cd to 325. lighter down to 2Gs Cd. Next week will be a double market,
