The “Observer's” Belfast correspondent says in accordance with l lstci Government’s instructions De Valera was escorted over the border and released, having given assurances that he would go south quietly. DE VALERA ARRESTED. LONDON, Oct. 20. The Irish Republican Leader. Air De Valera, was arrested iu the vestibule of the Town Hall at Newly, iu Ulster, when he was entering the hall to speak. He was to support the Iris!, Republican candidate there. This was 11, defiance „f the Ulster authorities. Ihe arrest was the sequel to a daylong watch by contingents of constabulary, who were armed with revolvers, lilies, bavonets and truncheons. Air De Valera spent the night under guard in the Newry Police Barracxs Put he was escorted to the lrontiet this morning. There he was released, and given a railway ticket to Dublin.
