RESOLUTION OF PROTEST.

WELLINGTON, Octobr 24

A meeting of citizens to-day carried the following resolution: —‘‘That this meeting of representative citizens of Wellington congratulates the Rrimo Minister and the Government on the firm stand taken against the attempt being made by a small minority of extremists and others to defeat the will of Parliament, expressed by many divisions during the last four sessions, and enters a strong protest against the waste of the time* of R:\rliament, at huge cost to tlie country, involved in the undemocratic methods of obstruction now being pursued, and urges the Government and stable elements .if Rnrliaiiieiit to maintain their determination. to pot the Bill through the House in the interests of democratic and constitutional Government.
