ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. . RISE IX FAT PIGS. (By Telegraph.—Special to Uuardiaa), CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs 11. Matson and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— Store Sheep—A large entry, mostly ewes and lambs. There were also several lines of shorn wethers mid woolly hoggets, prices for K. and L. showed little difference from last week, hut dry sheep were somewhat firmer. Taken all round the market showed little difference. Forward shorn wethers made 24s Gd to 29s lid, woolly wethers 3Gs Gd to 4ls, 3-hrcd ewe hoggets to 43s 3d, J-hrcd wether hoggets 29s to 3os 3d, mixed sex hoggets 28s lOd to 38s 9d, shorn wether hoggets 20s Id, aged ewes with lambs at foot 18s to 21s 9d, all counted. F.M. cross bred dittos 20s to 235, all counted. The market was firm.
Store Cattle,—A large yarding and as usual mostly of old cows and nondescript lots. The yarding included line of 4 and 5 year old bullocks from Marlborough which showed signs of travel and the majority were very rough, hut sold well from £1 15s to £8 3s. Other sorts showed little, if any difference from previous quotations.
Fat Pigs—A medium entry of hnconers aful prices advanced 10s a head on last week’s rate. Porkers were in over supply and towards the end of the sale the price receded Is to 5s per head. Vales were: Light porkers £2 10s to £2 17s Gd. heavy £'3 5s to .£‘3 15s; average price !)d to Dpi; light hnconers £l 5s to £1 15s; heavy £5 to £5 IPs. average price 7.Jd to BJd. Choppers £3 to .05.
Store pigs.—A fair yarding and all classes sold readily at a slight increase on last week’s rates: Values were: Weancrs 21s to 30s, extra to 31s, small stores 35s to 40s, medium 45s to -IDs, largo to 5Gs. No sows in pig were offering.
Reef—A large yarding, including n fair proportion of North Island rattle, the' quality on the whole being hotter than recent ynrdings and prices firmer all round. The market opened firm at last week’s rates and improved as it progressed. Prime steers made .£'lß to £2l ss, extra prime to £25 7s Gd, medium £ls 15s to £l7 Ids, lighter £l3 to £ls 10s. rough and unfinished down to £9 7s Gd, prime heifers £l2 15s to
£ll 10s, extra to £IG 17s Gd, medium ditto £8 15s to £l2 10s, lighter down to £G ss; prime cows £ll 10s to £l4, extra to £IG 2s Gd, medium £8 15s to £ll, aged and inferior down to £4 10s.
Mutton—A larger yarding tlian for some weeks, which included a large proportion of shorn slice]) and ewes than usual. The mniket opened up somewhat spasmodically, hut firmed up considerably as it progressed ; but the sale throughout was very uneven and finished up about on a par with the opening rates. One lot of North Island ewes and also one consignment of Marlborough wethers came forward and both lots met with a good sale. Iu our opinion, the sale showed little difference from last week and if anything. was slightly easier. Prune wethers made 52s to 57. extra to G3s Kid. medium 47.-5 Gd to 51s Gd, others down to 425, prime ewes IGs to 51 Gd, extra to Gls, medium 39s to 45s Gd. others down to 31s Gd, prime shorn wethers 39s to 44s Gd. extra to 47s Id. medium 33s to 38s. others down to 28s Kf, prime shorn ewes 30s to 355, medium 27s Gd to 29s Gd. others down to 23s lOd.
