It was resolved to write congratulating Air Carter on his promotion, and thank him for tho ' useful work lie had done during his residence in Hokitika.

I With regard to work about Cass | Square, it was resolved to ask the Borough Council to have the gross cut regularly to improve the sward, to arrange for a feM- loads of screened gravel for the .southern walk on tho Square, and for about 50 loads of Whitcombe Square sand, for hollow places on the main playing field. The Secretary was asked to arrange with the caretaker also for a general cleaning up of the grounds, and for a better floral show in the plots on Cass Square. The meeting concluded at 8.15.
