SELECTING THE TEST TEAM

A DIFFICULT TASK

SYDNEY, October 22.

ihe selectors of the Australian team to meet England in the first test are having a difficult time. Probably mover before in the history of the game have so many players been eligible for selection players who would wit weaken the side if included. Tt is a question who will he dropped and not who will he picked. There is a plethora of batsmen, hut not howlers. Australia is well served in the matter of wicket-keepers and has wonderful fieldsmen. Collins and Rardsley are the finest opening pair of hattsmen Australia possesses. On present form, Tavlor and Kippax appear certaimties, while Kelleway awl Gregory will also he among the first chosen. As only eleven can be picked from the grea array, it is certain some States are going to feel slighted.
